Bucksport Family Medicine, a practice of Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, is expanding its hours. Deborah Hatanpa, MD, will see patients beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday. “We hope that these early morning appointments will be especially helpful to our patients who are working,” says Debbie Jacobs, practice manager. “It can be very hard for patients to miss work, especially in the current economy. The new hours are our way of showing that we care about our patients, and want to make their care as convenient as possible.” Jacobs adds that the practice will remain open until 4:30, Monday-Friday.
According to Jacobs, “Dr. Hatanpa is a new physician who has already proven to be very popular among our patients. She is committed to family medicine, and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She has three young children herself, and many of our patients appreciate her first-hand knowledge of the medical needs of infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. Our patients also appreciate Dr. Hatanpa’s interest in taking care of parents, and even grandparents.”
The family medicine practice is not alone in offering early hours. A laboratory, located within the practice, will also open early on Wednesdays, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Blue Hill Memorial Hospital’s Bucksport Rehabilitation Services department already opens early, at 7:30 a.m. each morning. Physical and occupational therapy, as well as speech/language services are offered at the Bucksport location.
