For many summer residents and visitors, the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital Fun Run is an enjoyable, family-oriented event that takes place on a morning in early August. Fun Run organizer Anne Piazza, however, knows that fitness is not a single season activity. Committed to year-round fitness, Piazza is working with Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Healthy Peninsula, Cadillac Mountain Sports, and the Blue Hill Fair Association to offer a cross country ski clinic in Blue Hill.
The clinic, scheduled from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, is designed for beginner and intermediate skiers. Participants can choose to rent traditional or skate skis for a one hour lesson, or they are welcome to bring their own equipment to the Blue Hill Fairgrounds. The cost of a lesson and rental is $10. All participants will enjoy refreshments and skate ski demonstrations. Participants will also have an opportunity to meet other skiers, learn about ski trails in the area, and ask questions about ski equipment and techniques. Preregistration is required and space is limited. Interested parties should complete this form and send it with a check for $10 to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.
