Blue Hill Memorial Hospital Seeks Volunteers

Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH) is expanding its volunteer program and is currently accepting applications from those interested in giving back to their community.  Over the past several years BHMH has continued to welcome volunteers who have helped serve in a variety of ways throughout the organization.  Community members can frequently be found organizing art displays, supporting Human Resources administrative tasks, and tracking and recording BHMH’s media presence.  Last year, dozens of individuals, families and businesses lent a critical helping hand at our popular Fun Run 5K race and our first annual Women’s Wellness Event.

“As our volunteer program grows, we will identify opportunities to utilize the skills of those who wish to volunteer their time,” explains Dave Wheaton, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital’s Human Resources Director. “We value our volunteers and strive to connect individuals with functions that will allow them to use their abilities in a satisfying way.” BHMH has positions for individuals who have two hours or more a week to volunteer.

Currently, BHMH is seeking members of the community to serve as greeters for patients and visitors. “This could be a great match for someone who is outgoing and enjoys being around people,” says Heather Mott, Human Resources Generalist. She hopes more people will come forward and encourages those who are interested, to please call.  The Human Resources office has received great feedback from current and past volunteers who have formed lasting friendships and have enriched their lives with the work they have completed at the hospital.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital or learning more about our programs, please contact Heather Mott in the Human Resources Department at 374-3453.
