Rick Boulet, Executive Director of the Blue Hill Public Library called us one day with an idea: What if patients could call the Library and get "take out" literature? Rich thought patients, perhaps lonely and bored, might love a good read during their hospital stay. The Library is only a stone's throw away from the Hospital. We thought: What a great idea!
He said he would make it easy for us. And he did. Rich designed and printed cards to go in each room that read: "Bored? Give us a call! The staff at the Blue Hill Public Library would like your stay at BHMH to be as pleasant as possible. To help make this happen, we would be happy to deliver to you books, audiobooks, magazines - any circulating materials from our library collection. Just call us; we will deliver the materials as soon as we can. Not a member of the Library? We will sign you up, no matter what your town of residence is. "
The cards were delivered on August 9th and are beautiful.
