BLUE HILL - To celebrate the arrival of a new Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner and newly renovated Rehabilitation Services space, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital is hosting an Open House on September 16th from 4PM - 6PM. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.
The Rehab space features a new mural by local painter David Gross. The large airy room is light and boasts views of Blue Hill Mountain and the bay. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions about BHMH's physical therapy and occupational therapy programs.
The new multi-slice scanner will also be on view for the event. The CT scanner was purchased through donations from the community. To date, $392,000 has been pledged or raised towards the $500,000 goal.
According to Steve Votey who works in the Digital Imaging Department, "The new scanner gives more detail and more accurate diagnostic information about structures inside the body. Because these scanners have excellent low contrast resolution, doctors can detect even very small changes in tissue type. " |
