DEER ISLE — Island Family Medicine (IFM) recently expanded their laboratory hours to better meet the needs of their patients. The lab is now open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
"We're committed to providing laboratory services at our island practice," said Amy Dobson, Director of Outpatient Services for Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. "We appreciate the understanding shown by our patients this summer when we were short-staffed. We are now able to extend our hours to better serve the needs of the island community."
Patients will see the familiar face of Tammy Eaton who has been with IFM for the past two years and has now taken on the role of phlebotomist. She says, "I've heard from patients who are glad that we are providing services on the island. Many of our older patients had been concerned that they might have to leave the island for their lab work."
