| Beginning in January 2008, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH) and local community members will offer an eight-week workshop for children and their families on healthy lifestyles and improving self esteem. Each two-hour program will focus on the prevention and management of childhood obesity and is intended for children from ages 8 to 15.
Sessions will include interactive demonstrations to show how to make exercise fun and how to prepare healthy and delicious meals. Physicians from BHMH and local martial artists, dance and yoga instructors, nutrition enthusiasts and organic food farmers will participate in this program.
Every Body a Healthy Body will be held in the Blue Hill Memorial Hospital cafeteria, on Monday evenings from 4 pm to 6 pm, beginning January 8, 2008. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost of the program is $100 and will be refunded on completion of the program. For more information, please call BHMH’s Community Health Education department at 374-3472.
