BLUE HILL — Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH) is once again offering a summer Junior Volunteer Program. BHMH is committed to acquainting area youth with the health care field and believes this provides students with an ideal opportunity to gain “real life” experience.
The volunteer program will run from late June to mid August and is open to high school students ages 14 - 18. Junior volunteers will be asked to commit up to eight hours of time per week. Duties assigned to students may include assisting with discharging patients, “runners” delivering messages, help with mailings, filing, answering the telephone, gardening, and working in the cafeteria on the tray line and cash register. Assignments may vary depending on departmental needs and junior volunteer interest. All volunteers will receive orientation prior to beginning work.
Students interested in participating in the Junior Volunteer Program should contact Mary Boëchat at 374-3404 for an application and to arrange for an interview. The deadline for applications is June 15. |
