Ray Mitchell, PA-C (Physician Assistant – Certified), Island Family Medicine, is the fourth quarter winner of the Gold Standards Employee of the Quarter at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital (BHMH). The hospital started the employee recognition program in January 2006 to reward employees who reflect the highest achievement of BHMH employee standards. The Gold Standard Behaviors are the right attitude; etiquette and courtesy; safety; protecting privacy and confidentiality; excellence; commitment to our values; and teamwork.
Melissa Proper and Rya Trundy who nominated Mr. Mitchell said, “Ray went above and beyond his commitment to our patients at Island Family Medicine. As he was getting ready to take his (medical) Boards, he gave us an extra day to help accommodate a patient whose doctor had left. We all appreciate his dedication to the staff and patients.”
Mr. Mitchell, who has been with BHMH since 1999, also serves as the Medical Director for the Memorial Ambulance Corps of Deer Isle. He has been in emergency medicine for over 20 years with experience as a flight medic, training and rescue work in Saudi Arabia with Northrop Aircraft Corporation, and service in the U.S. Air Force.
BHMH strives to be the hospital of choice for patients to receive care, physicians to practice and employees to work. The Hospital is dedicated to providing primary and selected specialty healthcare of outstanding quality, caring for our patients with respect and compassion, and improving the health of the communities we serve. Blue Hill Memorial Hospital is a member of Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems (EMHS). EMHS members live up to their non-profit missions each and every day by caring for the members of our communities who otherwise would have limited access to quality healthcare.
